i was wondering which camera's do people have better succes with when taking pictures of their aquariums? Is it better to use a Digital camera, disposable camera, Or a Regular old school Film Camera? I am currently using my G/F's Digital camera, it is a (Nikon - Coolpix-5.1 megapixels)
Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated.. Thank you

Josh

I use a digi cam... It takes too long to get the disposable or film cameras developed, and I don't want to develop an ewurm quality picture, and have to pay for it! ;)

If you're satified with the photos you're taking now you're fine. If, on the other hand, you want something more AND are willing to pay for the results Canon, Nikon, and even Panasonic make excellent digital cameras with lenses the can be changed for different purposes. The bargain of the bunch is probably the Panasonic with Zeiss lenses.

Ok so digital, whats the best lenses or Camera settings for taking pictures in an aquarium?
should the aquarium lights be on or off?
should the flash of the camera be on or off?
how many megapixels is suficient?

....im just sick of having to take 5 pictures for 1 keeper.. i want a camera to be perfect...
im looking to sepnd around 300$

I don't think you're going to find the quality you're asking for in a $300 set-up. Maybe, rather than spending more money on a camera, you'd be better off taking a camera course or learning photoshop. You may be too critical of the photos you're shooting now. Let's see some. Do you have a photobucket account? They're free. www.photobucket.com Load some up and tell us to check them out.

I'd go w/Digital. Out of 100 pictures I take probably 5 are decent. That's how bad I suck at taking pix's..LOL.. I could just delete the ones that are crappy.

With a regular roll of film you have to wait till its developed and all pix's may suck

Sweet ppumpkin picture, is that sum1 spreading their ass? HAHA wowwwwww
But yea good point, i will go with digital, and alot of megapixels.. am i ignorant ... Obviously more Megapixels means more Focus, or better pics right?

not necessarily true. more megapixels will allow you to crop or blow up a picture better but it won't necessarily be a better picture. a better lens, a fast camera, lots of lights, and good knowledge of how cameras work will result in better pics.
