I know its not suppose to go in this forum, but im a ray keeper, and was wandering if any of my fellow ray hobbyists have used these....

They have them on ebay called, Digital PH reader meter, and temperature. Im sure the temp is accurate just wandering how accurate the PH readings would be. IF any1 has or is using one can ya tell me and every1 how accurate it is...?

Here is a link to an example

Hi!

I haven't used that specific product before, but I do have a Coral Life digital thermometer. Mine is off by about 3 degress...and I have read that this is pretty common with digitals. I hope other members here have had more and better experiences and can give you some more optimistic input. I still use mine, I just have to add "3" to whatever it is displaying. Its frustrating though.

Also, I use Mardel's PH and Ammonia meter. Its like semi-permanent test strips mounted in a suction cup plastic housing. It lasts about 3 months and gives you constant visual readings of PH and Ammonia. I actually like this item a lot and it seems to be very accurate when compared to my dip strips and Master Test Kit.

I hope it all works out for you...

I can't say anything good about this kind of product. It is working but is very inaccurate and often need to recalibrate. It waste a time.

Better to pay more and have good one.

I spent about £800 on my aquatronica, you still need to calibrate the probes at set up and every now and again.

It plots nice graphs and can add an SMS to send warnings but mine just has audible alarms.

I have mine reading Redox in the nitrate reactor, timing lights, pumps and water changes (auto) and then monitors the PH and Temp...they can do lots more though.

I expect any cheap one will do a job but not be reliable or accurate.

You should not need to monitor Ammonia after the tank has cycled, just keep an ammonia alert disc for spot checks and make sure the husbandry is correct.

PH ,should be checked regularly or at least every now and then as the vast bio load produced by Rays can cause it to creep OR Crash.

Price: US $24.90

No, they don't work
a new pH probe should cost $35
and be replaced every two years or so
just the probe

If you want something like that, I highly suggest YSI. Top notch products and great customer service if you ever need it. Most of the digital meters I use are YSI.

I just use digital temp. I am not to concerned with my pH because with my water hardness it does not move much.

I use my Fluval E300 heater for temp, I am too in the market for a digital pH and ammonia reader since I am colorblind and the other test kits are near impossilbe to read haha
