Can digital thermometers measure basking temps? The probe thing fell of the glass onto the basking rock and it started to rise like from 90 into the 100s. Theres a picture of it below.

Yeah they can measure whatever temp you put them on but digital temp guns are more accurate.

Black absorbs heat more so than lighter colors... therefore under direct light the black housing will collect more heat than a lighter colored rock...


I have very little experience with Coralife heaters measuring air temps... but they have failed me in measuring water temps many times (multiple units) and have therefore completely lost my trust...
