Digital Water Testers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just google digital ph meter. However, I bought one of these recently, and when I got it the instructions say that I have to calibrate it by leaving it in liquid with a ph of exactly 7.1 for an extended period of time. Any idea how I can do this (my tap water is 7.0 on the dot)?

Hello,

Please can you tell me if any devices are available that can detect the water parameters via a digital sensor rather than using the regular water testing kits?
Yes, there are quite a few of them. There are some inexpensive ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/Technika-Water-...ZWD1VQQ_trksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem

There are also expensive multiparameter ones if you want to measure e.g. dissolved oxygen or nitrate:

If you go to a vendor such as VWR Scientific, Scientific Products, etc., you will find a variety of digital testers for various water parameters. With regard to calibrating electronic pH meters, you have to purchase calibration solutions which are precisely pH 7, etc.

Hannah Laboratories makes some cheaper ones. Usually between $50-60 a piece. I have pH, TDS, and ORP (both have thermometers); works like a charm.
