does anyone have any tips on breeding dimidiochromis compressiceps(malawi eye biters) i currently have a male and a female. Im sure ill need more females but if anyone has any tips on enducing spawning please post

You will definatly need more females. Once my male got to a good size he really didn't tolerate females to well for some reason. I had two and he ended up killing them. I did have some spawning attemps but no holding. The females are notorious for spitting eggs. So what I would suggest is putting the female in a tank by herself with lots of hideing spots. Let her get used to it and condition her for spawning. Then add the male in later on and dont change anything around. That way she will know where hideing spots are if she needs them. Then if you get lucky and she holds for you just take out the male. I found but it may not work for every one but my fish prefered a flat piece of slate. That is what they would attempt to spawn on. I had it elevated higher in the tank and their was some current by it as well. Hope this helps and here is a link that might as well.
