What live food do you think is appropriate for a dinosaur bichir?
Add to the list (for fun) !!!

-predatorial
-around 14 inches as an adult
-it has tough skin

Polypterus Senegalus thoroughly enjoy African Dwarf Frogs. But feeding live foods is something I rarely do for my polys. Not enough nutrition, too much chance for disease, and more expensive than just feeding prepared foods.

^^ agree completely

go to the polypterus forum in the ancient species section and read the stickies-anne

mine love FD krill, raw shrimp, fish fillets, ghost shrimp, convicts(I breed them as feeders), and cichlid sticks. They are AWESOME FISH, I never expected them to be so active.

+1 i also feed mines Hikari carnivore pellets for the balance nutrition. They eat anything that can fit in their mouth

they love bloodworms, but i just wanted to tell you that its Polypterus Senegalus or just senegal birchir!
