so i started a fish tunnel out of six inch pvc piping but got off half cocked and used bondo on the tube then pressed the rocks into the bondo....and now thinking of it i dont believe this will be tank safe any input will be great?/

i really don't know, don't even know how long bondo will hold up under water, i've done that same thing with silicone instead of bondo before and it works good.

You are better off playing safe than sorry. Simply sand the pipe and then use aquarium safe silicone as an adhesive.

lol, before i sanded off bondo, i think if it was me i'd just buy another piece of pipe. maybe just me, but i've restored a lot of old cars and i hate sanding bondo, lol

just saw a pic of how big that pipe is and how much work you have in it, to be safe you could go out and by some resin and brush a couple coats the whole thing to make it water proof and if you don't like being a little shiny, after the resin has cured go back and add a little silicone and stones on top here and there so it blends better.

Sorry I didn't mean use the same piece. I meant get a new pipe and sand THAT one. I apologize for not speaking clearly bgcoop.

This may be of some help. Bondo MSDS

Personally I wouldn't use it. Body fillers are porous and not water proof. I would assume it would leach styrenes into your water. Under section 10_Stability and Reaction on the MSDS. It states to avoid contact with water. Personally I would start again and use silicone as already said.

thank you very much for the input i might just scrap the pipe i tried scraping it off hahaha good joke no freaking way and i should have known this before idiotic move on my part but it is what it is just start over i guess no dang way i am letting my monster be toxified and kill off its way to established and developed to kill everything off
