How long can it take to settle and should i run the filter? It's a bit reddish and i wanna know if i should run my filter or not. Either way how long will it take to settle?

When I added sand to my 55 a while back, I rinsed it till the water ran clear, then rinsed it some more. It still clouded the water badly (looked like dirty river water). I left the filter off for 2 hours, but the filter still picked up sand & stopped working for a while. In the end, I had to leave the filter off for 3 days due to the sand. Fortunately there were no fish in or needing the tank at the time.

If your *dirt* problem is caused by sand, I'd say wait. If not, I can't see what it would hurt to run it.

In the end, the water cleared, but it took nearly a week for it to do so fully.

Best of luck.

thx it's kind of like that stuff that kicks up in a lake when u splash (considering i followed a similar composition of mixtures). Capping it with gravel is working and i added a rock from another tank for the bacteria so it should clear up soon :P thx though more advice would still be appreciated
