i got home from work today n my male black convict is gone!...... i've checked all around the outside of the tank, around n under rocks,driftwood,plants...... he's just gone!...... there is a 4" pleco in the tank, could it have ate the con...?

How big was the con?
Doubt the pleco ate him.
Jumped out?! Check the floor space for him.
Put a couple of pellets in the tank. Maybe they'll lure him out from hiding.

Lmao!! i have the same problem..... I had 2 black convicts 1m 1f i moved them to a 20gallon tank and the male died for some reason. *shock* now i cant find the female ANYWHERE!.... i feed the tank anyway just incase lol

the con was about 1.5-2" i looked all around the tank inside n outside.... and i moved everything in the tank to find him, but nothing.... he's definately not in the tank or around the tank... the cons had babies about 2weeks ago, are the babies gonna be ok if i put in another male ? will the new male n female breed ?

Got a cat?:screwy:

Jailbrake! The convicts are out. Most likely he's all dried up somewhere.

Well that answers the question.

Once a pleco gets the taste of blood, no other fish will be safe in the same tank.

I would rather doubt that the pleco killed the fish, he may have however disposed of the body for you. Even when plecos gain the taste for other fish, they still can be kept with a number of other species. Just watch out.
