Has anyone ever had fish vanish without a sign? My rubber Pleco is gone without a trace. Along with two zebra snails. I figure if they died there would be evidence. but theres nothing that I have found as of yet. I don't want to take everything out of the tank searching, because I don't want to stress my other fish. Maybe the were kidnapped by aliens. Who knows. lol

other tank mates, décor in tank with crevices, intake and output pipes for hobs, canisters, sumps etc. plecos can squeeze in some tight places. chances are theres a body stuck somewhere

Yes, I bought 3 clown loaches(2-3 inches). After putting them in a 40B, I never saw them again. I looked around the tank. I inspected everything inside the tank. There were not any hiding places I could not see by lifting the object and turning it upside down.

I've had this happen where they will reappear a few days or a week later (they found a REALLY good hiding spot).

If after a week or two I still haven't seen them, I assume them dead and eaten by others. Keep an eye on water params to assure that the carcass is not fouling your water.

I once had a two foot cornish jack just up and vanish on me.

3 of my 6 dollar bill sized angels vanished from my 75g. I eventually found the bodys of two in the crevices of the 3.5 ft piece of driftwood in that tank. I recently broke down that entire tank and moved it never did find the 3rd one.

I just had my entire schools of zebra danios, fancy guppies and platys vanish in the past week+ and I managed to figure out they were getting eaten cuz I got to see ONE of the bodies finally....at one point they numbered 25, all 3 species combined....now all gone
