disappearing babys! what to do

so as you may or may not know i got 7 baby FM cichlids free at petsmart about 3 weeks ago. they are doing great, ecept, i belive my catfish is slowly picking them off. im down to 5 now! should i remove the cat?

I would. Unless they're being sucked up in the filter, it's got to be the cat eating them. Is there anything else in the tank? Have you found any bodies?

How big are the babies? If they are small enough, you may get by with a fry basket. Or maybe take a sterlite plastic container, drill a lot of holes in it. Put the babies in it with the lid on then leave it in the tank. Would be a great way to segregate the babies from the cat without having to actually put them in another tank.

I work at Petco. I do not understand what you are trying to say, but we do give away babies that are born in the store. We also accept fish people cannot take care of, and adopt them out.
