I had been waiting a few months for an arowana to arrive at a LFS.. Arowana was the reason I bought a 150g, was supposed to be the centerpiece of the tank.

Here's what it looked like after 20-30minutes in the tank:

****ing Clarias catfish was munching on the thing, and it was still trying to breathe when I took this pic.

I took almost 2 hours to acclimate the aro and then the ****ing catfish goes ahead and does this... God damnit I'm disappointed :(

wtf? how did the catfish get to him? send me your catfish, ill introduce him to the gulper :)

I dno, I had to attend to some **** after introducing the arowana. I guess it just sulked to the bottom of the tank after being introduced (like many fish initially do) and the catfish just jumped it...

I'm not 100% sure it was the catfish, but that's the creature that was sucking on its guts when I found the aro.

Also, the aro was maybe 1-2" shorter than the catfish (and thinner of course), I assumed there wouldn't be any trouble, the damn fish hasn't eaten any of the much smaller fish I've introduced with him there

ahhhhh so we cant say for sure he was the culprit, could have died while you where gone and he jsut took the oportunity to eat.

Nah, probably not dead already, because the aro was still "breathing" and moving when I took the pic (with the guts and one eye missing)

putting that baby with a Clarias is absolute lunacy...you should know better, I am sorry.

Start again, but take the clarias out.

I've added several much smaller fish in the tank with the clarias there and it's never been a problem, the claria has never shown any aggression, so I assumed things were ok.

Oh well, live and learn. I hope tomorrows aro will fare better.
