Hello I hope I've got the correct forum. I would like advice from anyone with experience recovering the glass from a large aquarium. My reason? I have a 24 sq ft skylight in my bathroom. It was construckted by a "proffesional" the way he thought it should be not the way I designed it so of course it leaks. At a retail price of $200.00 my 120 gallon heat treated aquarium would be very cheap material to safely correct this problem. I have removed and replaced broken glass in smaller tanks but I'm a bit timmid about this attempt. Your input will be wellcome. D.D.

First off, glass in a skylight should be tempered glass for safety reasons. Even if your tank has tempered glass, you won't be able to cut it. If it is not the size you want forget about even starting.

Thanks for your reply, As I said in my message the glass is (heat treated) safety glass and I have no intention of cutting. Also the thickness is more than adiquate for the building code. D.D.
