Hey, so i have a tank with some discus (2) and angels (2, more on the way), ray, and some smaller fish like neons, guppies, danios, stuff like that. My question is why do my discus and angels just stay in this one corner of the tank. Its the side i feed on but in reality most of the time they are not being fed right? Occasionally you'll walk in the room and they are scattered throughout the tank, but usually you'll find them in the corner! Why dont these fish utalize the fact they have 150g to swim in? May as well just put them in a 20g, gosh!
any input is welcome!

sits?

Yep. They are afraid. Do you have hiding spots for them? Thick plants are good for them to hide in. If they know they can hide they will feel more secure.

definitely hiding spots available, theres some drift wood in there, some are hollow, have some live plants that they can go into, and this corner is the most exposed so to say, as in nearest people in the room. The opposite corner is in the corner of the room, tucked away in plants. i think they want to be human.

Discus are usually keep in tanks with a schools of 6-10 fish and no others..........

most likely scared, not used to the environment. give them time to adjust eventually they wont be shy/scare anymore and beg for food when you come close to the room. another possibility is that there sick. walk far away from the tank or go hide somewhere where u can see the tank but they cant see you and see how they react when your gone if they are out swimming.

ok, so this is what i think. They're not scared, sick, lonely or anything like that, they are just expecting food when someones in the room. After spying on them i learn that a few minutes after i leave they are out and about exploring the tank. I always feed from the corner that they huddle in so i think im gonna try feeding from random spots everytime and see if that will scatter them around at feeding time. Although is that what i want? I mean when you feed them, youd want them to eat everything as soon as i put it in instead of having the food not get eaten since the fish are scattered and them just finding pieces on the ground randomly.
