hi i have a 30 gal with 3 small discus and neons . its planted and has lots of hidding places so i was just wondering if i could keep a single blood parrot with the discus

thanks

I wouldn't if it was me....If the three discus you have are small, I'd add three more small ones and keep up with daily water changes....In about 6 months you'll probably have a pair or two.

i would but i had 6 from my uncle one died from being the runt and the other 2 had an accident.
also im 16 and discus set me back 29 pound here so i was wondering if its possible

Heck no.
I wouldn't do it.
I have both Discus and Parrots (the Hybrid Blood Reds) and there is no way that my parrots would allow a Discus to survive in their water. Two of mine can't even open their mouths the whole way and they STILL go after everything in sight--including me:irked: . I now need thick gloves to do gravel vacs on the males. The female goes after me too, but her mouth is too tiny to bother me.

They are much more agressive and simply faster.

Please don't even try it. You might end up VERY upset.

The 30 gallons is already cramped. Neons will not last long enough while the blood parrot is with them. Discus and blood parrots are still a bad combo.

No, definetely dont do it this would not be a good idea. Parrots are considered aggressive and disus well you know there attitudes. Another thing you have to think of is feeding the discus with out the parrot getting in the way. This would be difficult.

blood parrots are going to kill your discus eventually- through theyre ugly looks. blood parrots would probably hog all the food anyways

Yeah, definitely not worth the risk. Discus are too expensive to take that risk.

best bet is concentrate on raising those juvis, lots of water changes and good quality food. Once they are adult, then you can figure what oddball tankmates you want to put with them.
