Discus breeding question

I was wondering if anyone knows if Discus of different colors/morphologies will interbreed being the same species, or if Cobalt blues will only mate with Cobalt blues and so on down the line . . .

Discus will interbreed with other color morphs

Wattley advises against interbreeding because from what he says the end result is usually worse than expected. (I'd still do it)
