discus with cloudy eyes.. what should i add to the water? already added salt.. what else? any help appreciated.. ty

what do you mean by poor water quality? could it be too hard or PH too high? my friend recently had this problem. weekly changes of 25% with declor'd water, added the fish about 2 days after the change and it developed cloudy eye, said something about gills not looking good, and then it was dead in the morn

Cloudy eyes are an indication of poor water conditions. Do a water change and treat the infection with a proprietary anti-bacterial product.

I agree, it's usually due to bacterial infection. Salt helps but only to a certain extent.

Very high nitrates and presence of ammonia and nitrites. Poorly maintained tanks always have bad water quality.:)

Captive-bred discus are able to adapt to ranges of water conditions more easily compared to wild-caught ones. Cloudy eyes cannot be caused simply by high pH or hardness. It is a matter of bacterial infection due to poor water quality.;)

I agree with Stotty's suggestion.:)
