Get a vertical platform, like a rock or something. If you manage to get a pair, it's not very hard.
If you wanted to breed sicus, considering getting a RO unit, 75G tank, pH of 6.6-6.8, soft water, temp of 86F, then put 6 young discus in the 75, and wait for them to paur off. You cannot sex discus but purely looking at them. Only at breeding time is sex apparent.
getting them to breed is the easy part... it's after the breeding that gets hard... they eat the eggs some will eat the wigglers, and even some will eat the tiny fry... for the most part... buy a proven pair, you might spend a little more, but then you know if something isn't right it's because something that your not doing, not the fish, being 2 male or 2 female, or infertile.. something along those lines... if it's you it's mostly water conditions or food issue's..

The hard part is getting a pair. They take good care of the fry, but sometimes they eat them when they are noob at breeding.
Thier first couple of spawns might go wrong but they do not eat thier fry unless thier is serious danger, IE you putting your hands in the tank.
