Hi,
I have bred discus for the first time and the fry are 4-months old.My problem is that the fry havent developed any colour.what can i do for the fry to develop colour?
Normally they will start to develop their color at about two months.....What kind of diet are you feeding them? I would start there....Make sure that they are being offered a wide variety of foods (Frozen brine, frozen bloodworms, high quality flake food, beefheart).

to add to the diet part, it goes hand in hand with good water quality. you should by rights and by "jack wattley" be doing 20-35% water changes once daily. doing this will increase there growth rate. if there 4 months old and only an inch in size you have a mix of problems. my method is feeding the best food money can buy, make a boat load of deionized water for those water changes. make sure to use discus essentials or something on those lines to replace a lof the elements deinizing and reverse osmosis take out.
icecube already stated the fry were 3-4 months old. It depends on the strain of discus you have as to when they begin to show their colors although most strains will have some color at 3-4 months, Brown Discus and F1 Wild discus will not show much color until they are quite a few months older.
