I have one discus that I bought a sale at petco and I absolutely love him. I was thinking about buying 3-5 more as I know they do good in groups. Would it be a good idea to buy them all from the same place or does it not matter? I would kind of like a mix of all different types but am not dead set on it. Is there a good number to group them in? They will be going in a 75 gallon tank for now.

For your 75g buying 5 or 6 from the same source is a good move depending on the quality of the source. I've never known PETCO to be a quality source for discus but if you're satisfied so be it! "T"

Dang your petco sell discus, crazy.

Ya it actually has a good selection...usually about 10-15 discus, ropefish, eels, tons of cichlids and a donation tank. You can adopt any fish for 5 bucks. I got two flowerhorns, a jd and a 18 inch snowflake eel for 20.00

If you are going to buy Discus, rather get them from a specialist supplier.
I would not touch them from a fish shop.

Rather know that you are getting top grade fish to start. And then you are making the best start with good quality fish.
