DEEP BREATH......!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!
Ok, so it all started a about two weeks ago when i brought four discus home from my lfs. Three were about 4" and one was a little one. After the first night, something spooked them, they got stressed, and i discovered that i had an illness or a parasite problem a couple of days later. At first the problem looked like ammonia burn from overloading the tank. This still could be a case. After i noticed the porblems on the slim coat i started doing larger WCs to give larger amount of fresh water. This didn't work so i asked around and started medicating for what the concesus was a external parasite infection. I used JUNGLE, which comes with 4 types of medicine. This would include prazi and metro. Don't know what dosages tho. After a week things seemed great then last sunday i woke up with another one of my tanks infected. I figured this could have been due to the fact that i used the same tools to perform water changes. So i starte medicating in that tank figuring it was a similar outbreak. Used the same medication. After TWO days of medicating nothing was changing other than my fish getting worse. I did some more research and decided to take an extreme measure and use potas. peroxy. i know this is a harsh medicine but the fish were really looking deathly! SOO i did a 12hr soak in that and it worked for many of the fish. after about 8hrs, i noticed that two of my discus had these white things on them. It looked like it was coming from under their scales, but now it does not seem like that. The white stuff has grown. The fish that are infected seem to be eating well, but their color is still dim and thier fins are a little clamped. (except for eating times). a couple of days ago, after the potas, i bleached out all my WC supplies to reduce the chance of making things even worse. Other fish in the tank are looking better, not 100%, but still better.
I don't know what this could be... Could it be from the potas? could it be from what ever infection i got?
I am still medicating, continuing treatment just like im supposed until 10days is up!
I do daily water changes in both tanks of at least 50% usually up to 70%.
All levels are well within normal ranges,
ammonia is less than, i want to say .5ppm,
nitrates/nitrites about zero
ph is about 6.8
temp is at about 85.5 in both tanks
chlorines and cholrimines are 0.
when i do water changes i am using amquel and seachem discus buffer. i use tap water because it is easier right now and easier to bring into ranges.
i have a lot of pictures in my albums to show you guys what im dealing with, they are in progression, so the pics of the blue discus are the ones that are having the most immediate issues. i tried attaching them but i failed!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!
