Like angelfish, Discus pair up naturally easy, even in lfs tanks.....Two ways of telling if the two fish you are looking at are paired:

1---->Just look for the two fish that stick together......

2---->The two fish guarding a spawn....

Usually buiying 5 juveniles will be the safe and for sure route........Within a month or two, you will have some pair bonding.....Vary the diet and do STRICT weekly, water changes.....Once a pair is found, seperate the two in their own 30-55g tank....NO subatrate, bare bottom....PLace a brick in the middle of the tank....My partner has been breeding Discus like this since the late 70's.........Good Luck............
