I guess this is a rant, or something similar. I just think it's somewhat stupid for people to say that they want to ''re-home'' their fish for a small fee, when that fee is about similar to what you can get online.

What do you think these cost? I mean, if they NEED to re-home it, then why put a price as expensive as others can buy them somewhere else? You know what I mean?

But yeah, if they need to re-home it, how much do you think it should be?

If they have that large of a variety, they're most likely a breeder. That means they're selling, not re-homing, which would explain the fee!

It's a way to get around craigslist rules. Selling any animals on craigslist is strictly prohibited so people just say "re-homing fee" instead but still charge insane amounts. If you think they're just selling instead of re-homing them, then just flag the ad.

Okay, that's what I thought. I would love to re-home these guys for them, maybe 3-4 of them for like $15-$20 each, but still, yeah, if they sell that's different, but re-homing, I think it's wayy too much!

its just a tech loophole around the rule of no live animal sales so adoption fee can apply

if craigslist would just loosen their rules then people wouldn't do this and be straightfoward. When I have to sell some of my surplus fish I just say rehoming fee applies. and small fee might be small to few people who really don't shop around and is unaware that alot of us can get it cheaper.

plus I don't think its that bad for a quality discus if they're good at what they're doing and is just trying to get rid of some of their breeders to avoid crossbreeding or got the best pick of the litter after growing them out some more.

$40.00 for a 3 inch discus is not a bad price..it depends on the strain. most breeders will sell there discus $10.00-$15.00 per a inch.

40 bucks for an adult discus? not a bad price :)

I think if you post in the pets section then you need to put re-home or htey will remove it. I see many posts in the general for sale with no mention of rehoming and hasn't been removed.

yeah as mentioned craiglist doesnt allow you to sell animals, and this is a way around it. but even then you still have the retards that have nothing better to do than to sit around and flag postings all day. for craps sake, just let people get rid of their pets if they want wtf!!!!!!!!
