I am going to rescue a discus tomorrow. It was left in a restaurant when the owner skipped out. I had a couple of tanks a 125 gallon planted and a small 10 gallon shrimp tank so I know a little bit about fish keeping but I have not had any experience with Discus. The fish is approximately 6" in diameter and it is by itself. I have to move the fish to my house nearly 50 miles away. So I need to know the best way to move the poor neglected fishie. TIA

Go to bait shop and get a batery operated airator. Use a 5 gal bucket and use the water from the tank it is in. Add 1/2 tblspoon of aquarium salt. When get home slowly mix the water use an air hose and put it from your tank to the 5 gallon bucket. when buket is full empy half Down the drain and go again. Repeat 2 or 3 times. Then pour almost all water out of bucket and dump fish in tank. The less of the neglected water you get in your tank the better.
