I was wondering if discus fish can be trained to eat floating pellet type foods ?

I was also wondering if its possible to keep larger discus species with other types of cichlids like oscars , geophagus or smaller species of cichla like kelberi ?

I have 1 tank and room only for 1 tank. That tank has my cichla , oscar and geophagus.

I know this thread may appear like a joke , but I'm trying to make my fiancee happy by getting discus.

Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.

you can train discus to eat lots of food pellets, flakes, frozen, live etc. im sure discus can live with the other fish you have in that tank. and get some nice discus. dont get stunted peppered up football shape discus. try getting them from a local breeder. or from vendors online..look over at simply discus forum. lots of info and vendors there with nice discus

Many hobbyists keep wild adult discus with geophagus species with no problems. As long as oscars and peacock bass are not much bigger shouldn't be an issue but feeding will.

Discus are bottom feeders and some will learn to take food from the surface. But I'm not sure if they will get enough away from the other piggies like oscars and pbass to sustain long term.
