Just an update for those who helped and for those others whom this could help. I perform 3 large water changes every second day for 6 days. Plus, I used Metronidazole immediately following each of the 3 water changes.
The day following the first w/c and met I saw some minor improvements. The second and third days took him right back to normal. He has been happy (good color) and keeping good position ever since.
While I can't say for sure, I suspect it was a water quality issue as the improvements came with the first big water change.
Thank you all!

90% of all disease problems with discus (and every other fish too I might add) is due to poor water quality. When the water quality is improved by doing water changes, this relieves a major stress factor. Keep up the water changes and you'll see not only your discus, but all your other fish thrive like you've never seen before.
