I have been keeping stingrays for the last 2 years. My tank has a large sump and a fluidised bed filter running about 12 times turn over. I all ready do large water changes twice a week. My question is now hat the rays are gone are discus really going to be that much harder?

depends on the size of the discus you get. I have 8 adult wilds in my 120 gal. and do one 70% wc per week. some will say thats not enough but after two years my fish are fine.

If you kept rays you already have the right conditions for discus. Adult discus are not as hard as people make it sound, the work is in raising juvies to adult size.

Go with adult wilds, you can decrease the turn over to 6-8 times, and continue WC 2x a week and be taking very good care of them.

^ like the above posted said.discus arent hard like most people make it to be. only the juvies are the challenge. people say discus are hard because they havent personally kept discus and listen to people online or often people start off with bad quality stunted discus so when they die they say discus are hard. get healthy discus from a good source and u will be fine. im selling some wilds if ur interesed haha.

What do you guys think of is discus for my first one? Its 4 or 5 inch and $50
