trying to search for some alternative tankmate for my aro... current tankmate(a pair of jungle perch-sebarau) grab all the food, almost from the mouth of my aro...
saw someone's comm with discus and aro... will it work? really trying to find some less aggressive eater... current tank is 100g
forgive me fellow mfker.. trying my best to get another bigger tank...

Teoritically it should work as long as you lower the Ph for the discus and if you arowana is no longer a baby.

I too am planning to add discus in wit my arowana the way I'm gloom at it is I lower my Ph to 7 ( normally around 7.5) for a few month. Next months (would've been 2 month The Ph stays at 7) I'm going to lower it to 6.5 that way I'm not lowering it all at once and risk my arowans

my aro is hitting the 1 foot mark its a greenie... hehe.. hmm.. interesting mayb a ph around the zone of 7 might be good??
the thing im more worried about is my aro's aggression... im thinking more in the line of, the discus shape=not what he used to associate with food or prey item...
my aro would let it be... the reason being thru my observation my green does attack fish with a more elongated shape... or he is just pshyco...

o well then that might be a problem. what u can do is try puttin a tank in a tank to see how the green behaves with the discus in it

I think it really depends on the aggression of your individual aro. Greens are generally one of the nastier aro species, but if yours is doing fine with its current take mates I think discus is at least worth trying, as long as you have a backup plan if things go crazy. Good luck.
