discus with stigrays?

Is anyone keeping discus with their stingray?

Ive seen several people with this mix.

Probably best to start with bigger discus and then add the ray at a smaller size.

i did it and slowly the rays picked off the rays because the discus sleep on the bottom of the tank

it can be done when the discus is large and the ray is small. but the ray will out grow the discus and then in the long term the discus will be food.

it can be done, but you run an expensive risk.

yeeep. I've had mine together over a year now and have not lost one discus. Maybe it is because the rays are not huge yet (about 11-12") or maybe it is because i feed them right before bed so they are not hungry while the discus are sleeping? Either way don't do it if you can't afford to find out the hard way if it does not work out.
