discus with stingray?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
um, discus are good eaters when they are healthy, but I don't see them as serious competition for anybody. I have never kept a stingray, but unless he is slower than my plecos, I would think he would be just fine. That would be one heck of a tank. Lets see the pics when you get them together!

Make sure your discus can eat quickly before the loaches vacuum everything. Generally angels are a much better tankmate for the clowns rather than discus as they do not easily freak when the loaches try to brush them around with their barbels.

no no no... when your motoro grows big enough it will attack anything smaller than it that gets too close.

I agree. Discus feeding frenzy is like a pillow fight and I to think they wld be fine. We have some kind of loach in almost all of our discus tanks.

It's an awesome idea. I would love see it to!

I would agree about angels being a better choice but for the most part they don't seem to bother the discus . . .
although we usually only stock huge adult fish with small loaches that grow up around the discus so that might have something to do with it working out.

I have a pair of motoros and added three discus. They all are doing great. I feed the rays earthworms and smelt and the discus get bloodworms. neither eat each others food. . . . . for now. And they dont mind each other at all so far. we'll see when everyones an adult.
