I was wondering if it would be alright if I put some discus in with my 2 retics stingrays and a arrowana. He will be going hopefully to a new home soon. If I can what size should I put in? Is there anyother fish that you would recommend as a tankmate or no?

I really recomend discus, theyre beautiful, colourful, and have an amazing attitube. I keep them with my rays they are very docile. Mine even eat out of my hand, the only thing is the are very delicate and need perfect water (like rays). The only problem i found when i first got my discus was that some wouldnt eat. I learned it the hard way and lost 2 of them bec. i didnt make sure they were eating at the lfs.

aro, discus, and rays are a great combo i had it for mounths until my ray and aro out grew my tank if i say u have the space go for it

Legendary Pic..

Thanks Frank (Itaituba2003)

yea thats inspiration...

That pic is amazing. I could only dream of getting a pic like that when I am done constructing my pond this year.

I have a pretty big motoro, and I was wanting to put discus in with her; however, reading some of the posts about motoros in general being aggressive I don't know if it will be a good idea.

in her temperary pond she has a tone of little danios that I got a few weeks ago. she seems to be pretty passive to them and they have zero shelter. would anyone have any suggestions of good test fish to add before I try some discus? my pond will be about 1000 gallons with 35 sq feet of floor space.

Forget the discus with motoros, leos, etc. They will eat them, it is only a matter of time.

Discus do work very well with histrix, retics, scobina, etc. The smaller, less aggressive rays are the best to keep with them.
