whats up everybody i'm getting some discus in a few days and was wanting to get some info.what are some things i shouldn't do when keeping discus?like what i shouldn't feed them and when treating disease which i hope i dont have to what can i not use.also any good tips would be nice thanks

ok so tomorrow i'm going to get the discus and anything else i can fit in my car filters,heaters,plants, wood ,lights and glass and then going back friday to get the tank
its a 220g 7ft tank but will be moving soon so i have 3 30g setup to house the fish until i move. now i plan to save around 40 gallons of water from the tank to mix with the water in the 3 30g will this plus media in filters be enough to help acclimate the discus to their new tanks.also is it a good ideal to put some sand from the tank into the 30's so i can put the plants in them and also help seed the new tank

If your are moving soon, why not wait until you get moved to buy new fish? This will give you time to learn how to properly care for discus before you get them.
