sorry is i spelt it wrong. how easy/hard are discuss to breed and what environment do they breed in?

You can do a pair of discus in a 40G breeder, but that is a BARE minimum. in most discus tank, they spawn at around 5" or so and drive the other tankmates away whilst they protect the spawning site. They usually lay on a vertical surface such as intake pipes, braod tall leaves etc. Discus require very warm, soft, acidic water. Most serious discus keepers load the tank with plants, CO2, HO lighting, the works. All this makes for a more natural environment.

I spawn my LSS and Red melons in 29 gallon tanks, PH around 7.4 Tds around 50.
Bare tanks with sponge filter , temp around 81 degrees.Clean water and no lights works well

night flight... a 29 would do but its deff tight... as long as there is no agression that seems okay... but a 40 gal would be a lil better

i used to breed all my discus in bare bottom 20 highs with no problem at all.. for get what other people say.. 20 h soften the water (6.0ph) and keep the temp at 86.. then feed them blood worms and frozen brine.. then 2 times a day I would go in and siphon the bottom of the tank.. all the poop and if there was any left over food... and I used to also have a 3 inch piece of pvc pipe in there cut at a sight angle so the fish would lay eggs on... this worked for me for years... never had a problem. bigger tanks require more work for you and cost more money for breeding. go with the smallest tank but not too small.. remember discus barely swim anyway.

Only large mature breed (as we all should know). You will need a Discus setup which can take a fair bit of time and koney but is well worth it.

I have a pair that will spawn every two weeks, it's raising the fry that is the challenge.
