....the common wet/dry filters concidered, generally, as a bad device to use on a marine system? have you run one before? if so, what was your experience? did it actually do the job, or only partly, or not at all?

If there was an aspect of marine equiptment that you could revolutionize, what would it be? why would you seek to revolutionize that chosen aspect? How would you make it better?

What has been your complete and utter waste of money purchase? Why was it a waste? was it because it did not do what it stated? did you just not get value for money?

I would revolutionize lighting systems. I hear right now there doing this, or the technology is tied up in court, something along those lines. Anyway, back when my chums and I were filming regularly our graphics guy was using led's to test out tracking protocols and trying to make a 3d screen without the need for the second perspective. This led to the idea of using led's as the reef lighting system as they take zero power and don't heat up. So for all of you reefers, instead of $2500 on a decent system, you'd spend maybe $500 and have to maintenance the thing once every five years. And all of that with (pay attention here) no cooling system on the light.

But it's being done so, salavee.

I've only had real waste of money purchases in livestock. "Well shoot, that's big enough for all of these guys..." "Well then I'll just have to buy another one..." (sad face)

The end product of a wet/dry is nitrates. You don't want any nitrates in a saltwater tank.

Wet/dries get rather "crusty" too in saltwater.
