i recently noticed that my female convict was losing some colour on the tip of her gills. it used to be blue but now its kind of grey i was wondering if its diseased or just the male nipping on her. theres also some white colouration on her stomach, by the orange marks indicating the female sex.
my fear is that if it is disease it'll spread to the new born fry as they just hatched. so far there hasnt been any indication on the male of the same.

Often female convicts will lose there coloring while raising fry. No disease or abuse here.

i actually noticed it before she laid eggs does that make a difference?
