First, I'm treating my tank for ICH, read about it here as to what I'm doing treatment wise: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147436

I noticed a mark on the right side of my Texas last night that wasn't there the day before, it's right behind the fin. You can't really see it in the picture but you can in the video. It looks like a chunk of his side was sliced and is hanging off. Other than that he appears to be normal. Eating, swimming and interacting with the other fish as normal. He and my Jewel have been having some beef here lately and I also have several sharp rocks in my tank which could have easily done this. I just want to make sure it's just a cut and not some disease. Thanks!

Video isn't showing on my computer, and pic doesn't show me anything. whether it is ick or an injury, the best thing to do is a quick waterchange, raise temp to 86* and add 1 tablespoonful of salt per 5 gallons of water. Continue with regular waterchanges; but be sure to add the appropriate amount of salt to the new water added (1tbsp/5gal). keep these conditions for ten days min (symptoms will disappear before 10 days, but that is the span of Ick's lifecycle).

Salt is good to help fish with skin/scale injuries. It also kills ick. heat kills ick, and will speed metabolism to help fish heal quicker.

oh yeah, disolve the salt in water before adding it to your aquarium, too. you can use "aquarium salt", but its expensive. Morton's Kosher salt is best, or you can use table salt, if its all you have. the iodine is in far too low concentration to have any adverse effect.

looks like an injury to me, it should heal in no time.

if it is a injury.....do this...couldn't have said it better myself.

I started the ICH treatment like 6 days ago with a 40% water change and Rid-Ich+ and been doing a 25% w/c daily along with a daily dose of the rid-ich+, in a few more days at the end of the treatment cycle I'll do another 40% change and put all my carbon back in. I think it's an injury too but wanted to make sure. Thanks!
