how do you disinfect tanks?

Hello Everyone, i just recently lost some fishes to dropsy 1 sumbu shell sp. and 1 front and i think that i might have cross contaminated my tanks as these 2 fishes are from different tanks. THis is the only disease that my fishes get which is an irony because it may be treated but it will go back with a vengeance and would eventually kill the fish. My front had dropsy before and they were cured but the dropsy came back hard and the fish will no longer respond to the meds and im loosing again some fishes,
so my plan now is to disinfect my system which i have no ideas on where to start. I was suspecting at first that it might be the excess foods but the fishes finish it in less than a minute with no leftovers so the bacteria might be the culprit and has cross contaminated my tank.

BTW my water parameters are great 0 Ammonia Nitrite 0 Nitrate 12.5mg/l
Water change every week.

Dropsy is no joke as you really cant cure it you can alleviate the symptoms but after a few days weeks he is back with vengeance. And i cant seem to find the underlying cause of the dropsy It wont respond to clout or metro so now i think my option would be to disinfect or to Uv all my tanks because dropsy just pops no warning sign except the fish getting pot bellys.

Thanks CArch a lot, that is my problem to figure out why my fishes blow up one by one they dont show any symptoms except the blowing up so i want to know ow to prevent it aside from the water parameters as my water is ok and my water changes is a routine
