Hello guys and gals. I would just like to reintroduce myself as I haven't been on here in quite some time, so here we go. My name is Kevin, I'm currently 19, but will be turning 20 on the 24th of January. I currently reside in Upstate Ny and most likely will always live here no matter how much I hate the cold. Haha. Most of you might remember me as the person who started the failed attempts at the RTC growing contest.
I will give you a overview of everything, ill probably get flamed but id rather state the truth than lie. All of my fish with the exception of my Red belly pacu are gone now, and were meals for my rbp....she's a beast and eats everything. I was very naive with the full potential of the monster fish we all love and never went by what anyone ever told me, and look where I am now, with nothing to show for anything I'm the fish world.
I have learned a good many things through here and personal knowledge that what people say on here for potential size and growth rates aren't kidding or trying to be mean about not being to house things if you don't have arrangements first. I will admit right now, when I got my monster cats I was no where prepared for anything, which is why all my fish either died or got eaten. Since the failure of my fish I have moved on to a passion I've had that overdoes monster fish and that is snakes, ball pythons mostly and ill be spending quite a hefty sum these next few years for my breeding stock. I am much better at husbandry needs for snakes then I ever was for fish.
However fish are still a part of my life and always will be, I've come back to the forum to read and learn mostly, although I will post occasionally. My and my gf will be going to nursing school this fall and have plans to build a house once we get out. Now I don't want to hear anything about my relationship, so don't comment on it, its really not your life to live.
Anyways, I will be getting the whole basement as my man cave and I want to incorporate a custom steel/concrete pond for the monsters I love so much. The pond "plan" is calling for a 20'x20'x4' deep pond. I would like to house such bohemoths as 1-2 rtc, 1 rtcxtsn, 1 pariaba, 1 planicep, and a multitude of smaller fish like cichla temensis and azuls and a few high end rays. I also plan for a 500 gallon aquarium for some more cichla.
Now I would like to thank those who have given advice to me in the past and I didn't listen and I appologize. My brain works now and ill be waiting till the time is right and I have appropriate accomidations for the beasts.
Thank you all and have a great day.
