Ive got a few pbass around 7'' to 8'' mark, today i bought a nice little hornet cichlid and threw him in.It was bout 3'' and was'nt meant to be a feeder. All was ok then i went out came back a few hours later to find the hornet in my cichlas mouth. It was sitting on the floor breathing rather heavy with this fish stuck in its throat. It seemed that the dorsal of the hornet got stuck at the bottom of the basses mouth.I took it out of the tank and removed the hornet, which was dead and put the bass in the tank. But now his mouth is in the half fully open position and hasnt gone back to normal.Does anyone know if it will return to normal?

hahahah you found my old thread huh...i loved that fish lol anyways, well if the jaw is broken or dislocated it's going to heal back funny. my wild orino in the thread posted above by silverdragon, wuddup rafael ;), did not technically have a broken or dislocated jaw but from having the convict wedged in there so tight for a decent amount of time, which i had to cut out, i'm guessing that his jaw muscles were a little sketched out or cramped up... a few hours later, since i found him at night, the next day his mouth had closed back up and was perfectly back to normal. good luck and let us know what happens, there is nothing you can really do now.

waddup pete! :D yeh I loved that thread of your wild orino & the convict! He was a nice fish and such a pig lol!!

Woke up this morning expecting to find my bass dead because of severe heavy breathing that was going on last night, but to my surprise he was swimming around fine and also had got his jaw back to normal! Its funny that silverdragon posted up boostens old thread, cause thats pretty much exactly what happened to me last nite.I've learnt a lesson though, whatever can fit in a cichlas mouth...WILL.
