I came back from vacation and my fh's mouth is distended and swollen. WTF?!

Is there someone in the tank he could have been fighting (LipLocking) with?
I had this happen to one of my FH. He had Lockjaw for at least 4 hours, or 4 days......I forget. I know it was a while though, cuz I was freaking out. It eventually went back into place. I have heard though, sometimes it doesnt. If that happens, you could guide it back into place, but that is VERY iffy.
PM a mod to move this to the disease section. Lupin should have a say in this. The swollen part is odd. Doesnt look right. Might not be lockjaw. I'm 50/50

yeah I posted in the disease section first but no one has responded. This fish is in a tank with a divider he has no contact with any other fish. Just a pleco and a spotted raphael. I already pulled him out and tried to move it around or push it back in and it was indeed iffy not really knowing what im doing. Felt like I was doing more damage than helping. Don't want to lose this guy but he won't eat either........ yar..
ewwwww, yeah. duck lips.....not too much. give it lots of clean water. A cure? Not sure if there is a 100% cure.....

yep duck lips. can be treated if caught early. this of course looks like a advanced case, and thus you will probably loose the fish to the disease.
first time I've ever seen a picture of duck lips but yeah it's common for flowerhorns to get from what I read. Anybody know what causes it? Is it a disease or is it genetic?
i don't think it's genetic. seems to come about because of some sort of mouth infection. possible from moving dirty gravel? or even from locking mouths with another fish. i really don't know but i've lost 1 nice fish to this....
