I am in the planning stages of redoing part of my backyard and intend to put in a deck, pond, and firepit. I am concerned with where I will be able to place the firepit in relation to the pond. I will probably be going with an EPDM pond liner so I was going to go with a minimum of 6' to prevent anything from melting/combusting, but I am also thinking that stray ash could cause the pH of the water to decrease and muck up the filtration.
Anyone have any thoughts, opinions, or experience to share?
