nice fish but can be a bit psycho,mine takes we moods now and again and will chase the 2foot long pacus nipping away at them,it will remove a few of theyre scales,not to bad

How long does it take to get them that big?

got mine about 2.5 years ago at 3",quite fast growth and still gowing at a good rate

how recent has it been that the colours have started to fade?

I have always liked these fish just worried about the aggression levels - is he with anything other than Pacu?

What sort of tank space is required for one?

it seems to have just gradually faded since small,but still quite colourful at 18".tankmates are various sized ca cichlids,barbs arowana,lots of catfish up to 3 foot rtc.i,ve heard they can get to about 30",hope so!
