Distichodus lusosso

Just a warning, this is going to sound really noobish. Since Distichodus lusosso are mainly herbivores, could I put a school of 6 in a 500 gallon with 50-100 cardinal tetras. I have always had this dream of putting a giant school of cardinals, with a small school of giant fish. *Crosses Fingers*

I wouldnt recomend it.. MY Distichodus lusosso has a very mean temper.. needs to be with fish his/her size

If I put tetras in my tank I think my lusosso would eat them before the datnoids could get to them. That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Distichodus are very aggressive fish and will fight with each other not to mention wipe out all your cardinals.

I have one about a foot long in a 120 with 3 tetras 2 baby black sharks (1 inch) 2 baby yoyo loaches (1 inch). He doesn't bother them at all, but I tried adding a young stingray to the tank and he constantly bit at it. Stingray got moved to a tank by himself to grow a little. I'll try to post some pics later if possible.
