Distichodus Sexfaciatus

I have a 13" Sexfaciatus by himself in a bare bottom aquarium.....

Second time this week I vacuum 50-60 scales from tank.....I don't see any damage on the fish.......he's in perfect condition....just wondering

Do these guys shed their scales????????

That might explain the color loss as they get bigger.

Good point!

I had noticed scales before.....but he had tankmates....and just thought must be quarrels here and there......but now he's alone.....and every once in a while find few dozens of scales on bottom of tank!
