Hey, all! I have a 180 gallon tank. I got rid of 3 tinfoil barbs to make room for another fish. As of right now, here is my setup:

1x gold severum (2 inches)
1x blood red parrot (4 inches)
1x leopard ctenopoma (4 inches)
1x fire eel (10 inches)
1x black ghost knife (5 or six inches)
5x clown loaches (3-6 inches)

Will a distichodus sexfasciatus work with these fish long term in a 180 gallon? I will of course buy it small and let it grow with these fish. I am thinking of adding two of these three fish: Flagtail, distichodus sexfasciatus or hujeta gar/barricuda. Will any two of these three work? If I have room for only one of them, would any one of these three work?

Thanks!

long term, no, as they grow over 2 feet. Also they are shoaling fish, so personally I wouldnt keep less than 5 or 6.

Completely contrary to the previous post, I'd give it a go. The one problem I can see is the Clowns, 'cos my Sexfasciatus certainly likes to chase other stripey fish! Doesn't do any harm, just chases! And my tank's only 100gal and my Distichodus is in the 9 inch range. From my experience, it takes them a while to get big - mine has probably grown about an inch a year since I got him, so it depends what you mean by long term. If you got a small one - few inches say - you might need to grow him out a little before he goes in with the other fish, but they certainly seem capable of holding their own....
