Distichodus Sexifaciatus info

I can't find any info on this fish. The only bit i have ever read was in an old article of TFH. Every search only comes up with ones for sale. Does anyone have any articles or general info on these guys? Thanks!

Originates from Africa. Attains 12" or so can be aggressive...mine loves harrassing my prochilodus or clown loaches. An omnivore, mine favors lettuce that he completely shreds and different types of sinking or floating pellets as well as frozen foods. I like him, but he is a little bully.

Tough fish! Great dither for rough cichlids.

I had one that I grew up to 14" in a 90g but had to be taken to the LFS because it was harassing my tinfoil barbs at the time.

very beautiful fish though. nice and red. but mean.

They also loose a lot of the bright colouration as they get bigger, to the point where they almost loose the stripes. As mentioned, they do get much, much bigger than 12" and become more bothersome the bigger they get.

Also, your spelling is abit out, you'll get a lot of results on google with the correct spelling "Distichodus sexfasciatus"

yeah they get big to 30 inches, Im looking for an extremely similar fish but stays to only around a foot long D. lussoso, but im unable to find in the state i live in Arizona
