Hi Guys!

Hope you are all well during Quarantine! I am in the process of setting up a 75 gallon planted aquarium. It will have valisneria, wisteria, and crypts (so pretty densely planted). Wanted to know what smaller tank mates I can add. I really like the idea of adding schools of guppies or danios. I understand that the bichir will get some, but if they can reproduce and mostly survive I will be satisfied. Will this work? I don't want to invest in 20 guppies and have all of them become a polypterus snack :). BTW I have a polypterus lapradei wild caught which is around 13 inches.

Also if this will not work any suggestions for "dither" fish that can work. I want to be able to get something that won't break my wallet lol.

Thanks again guys!
Ray

Don’t think they’ll reproduce quite enough. The lapradei will take them out quickly. I’d suggest a large school of Congo tetras or red eye African tetras.

Okay thanks! Will Congo tetras grow big enough? Form first hand experience my lap has ate a 2 inch eclipse catfish and a 3 in jewel ciclid so I was thinking going big (6 inches or more) or small (an inch or less)

Jewel cichlid will work too. Gotta be full grown.
