Dither fish for cichla?

my 2 orinos killed both of my silver dollars. can tinfoil barbs go in with my orinos?

Sure. Your Orinos eat pellets yet? If not, stick something in there with them that does. I just put a similar sized Albino Tiger Oscar in with my group, hopefully he will teach them to take pellets

i currently use 3 silver dollars as dithers... try using the tinfoils.. will work too.

I have a gold fish....i have proof to. Been with the bass for 6 months now.
How big were the silvers? try and introduce the tins after a water change and move the decore around. it worked for me when i added my dats.

nope not yet they take it in, chew em, them spit em out
almost got an oscar but afraid of aggression though

For my 2-3" Tems im using 3" Alestes tetra's good dithers. In the shop we used rainbow fish

my pbass have killed all the tetras i used as dithers they were to big to eat so the ganged up on them and killed them all slowly

ive heard groups of SDs work.
i think any fast,silvery,shiny fish should work.
you only had TWO SDs which might have been the problem.
i have 7 now and the pbass and oscar still pick on them so much that they only stay at one side of the tank.
im getting 13 more so i'll have 20.
