what the heck are Dither fish and what are there purpose :screwy:.someone please explian why people put cardinal tetrea with oscar.(thanks in advance)

thankyou for simplefying these articles i dont fell like reading,i have one more question why do they put the fish in the tank if the ciclid can eat it.arent they scared of it geting eaten

Most of the fish used for this purpose are faster then the predators. Added Cardinals aren't that expensive. So if you lose a couple here and their it's not gonna break the bank.

thank i understand and i took thr time to read that link.hey i guess you learn something every day

Cardinal Tetras sre not a suitable fish to house with an Oscar unless your trying to feed it. They are also about $4 each in most cases and require temps in the mid 80's. Just an FYI.

I thought that Cardinals could stay between 76 and 86 degrees. 78-82 shouldn't be an issue. And I've on occasion seen Cardinals at my LFS 3 for $8 and change. or 3 for $10.00 depending on size.

Compared to the $35.00 that the LFS charges for JD, and Plecos that's cheap. But like I said above. You'll lose them here and their.

I generally use tinfoil barbs with my Oscars but they get BIG.
Silver dollars work almost as well and stay a more manageable size.
