So I've got 5 SD's and all they do is hide. They run scared of everything, and jam themselves under whatever they can, whether they fit of not. Picture the school all laying on their sides under the same rock. It sucks. They are in a 125 with an Oscar, who doesn't give them the time of day. Seems most peoples SD's do what they are supposed to do: swim around off the ground oblivious to everything.. Anyone have SD's that act this way? What to do? Params are good, btw.

Was also wondering, since they are naturally herbivorous, does anyone feed them veggies? They eat commercial salmon pellets and bw's and misc pieces of meat. Anyone ever fed them that dried seaweed stuff or green of any sort? They don't eat the live plants in the tank and don't bother with the pleco's zucchini at all. If feeding them something special would make them happier, I would do it. Thanks for any thoughts.

Yes they will eat veggies. Try lettuce, cucumbers, etc.....
Also try adding some black skirt tetras. Those seem to get silverdollars more happy. They may get eaten by the oscar atleast they will bring out the silverdollars.
Also if you are willing to spend some $$, fei feng flagtail prochilodulis seem to like to school with silverdollars, so 1 of them would be a good choice. They will take care of your alage. Will grow as big as your oscar 12-14'', though.
